Zul Ariffin is a Malaysian model and actor of Malay, Indonesian and Dutch descent. Born in Taiping, Perak, he moved to Kuala Lumpur where he was discovered by a talent scout. He began his acting career in 2008 with roles in popular television series such as “Gerak Khas”, “Nora Elena” and “Awan Dania”. In 2011, Zul was cast in a supporting role for “Penanggal” - a first joint-venture film between Astro Shaw and Grand Brilliance. The film was released in 2013 and the role bagged him the Best Newcomer Award in the 2014 Malaysian Film Festival. In 2014, Zul starred in hit drama “Rindu Awak 200%” which bagged him the Favourite Male Actor in a Drama Series award at the 2015 Anugerah Meletop Era. Since then, Zul has been nominated for numerous awards and won the award for Most Popular Actor in a Film at the 2017 Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian. Zul has also appeared in many print and tv commercials and has been the face of Fishermen’s Friend and Lipton Malaysia, among others.
